AANR-Florida wants to visit you!!
Believe it or not, time is fast approaching for AANR-Florida to make our 2014 meeting and convention schedule. We are looking for places to meet for our 2014 Mid-Winter Meeting (in either January or February 2014) and for our Annual Convention in June 2014. These meetings and their announcements provide a great opportunity for your club!
Hosting the Mid-Winter meeting (landed or non-landed clubs) or the Convention (landed clubs only) provides several benefits for your club – AANR-Florida will reimburse the host club for expenses incurred that are related to hosting the meeting or convention. In addition to reimbursement of expenses, AANR-Florida provides a "Thank You" check to clubs that host the meetings and conventions. It also provides revenue for landed clubs from the attendees' reservations/spending. Finally, and maybe most importantly for you, this is a great opportunity to let AANR members know more about your club/facilities through our announcements and publicity regarding the meeting/convention.
Attendance at the mid-winter meeting includes approximately 8-10 board members and their guests; attendance at the Summer Convention includes not only the board members/guests, but also delegates from all other clubs in Florida who are encouraged to attend – your club will need to have sufficient accommodations available for these attendees.
We ask that you consider hosting an event and submit your bid as soon as possible so that we may consider and vote on our meeting locations at our 2013 Convention to be held this summer at Suwannee Valley Resort near White Springs, FL on June 21-23. If interested, contact AANR-Florida’s Convention Chair, Jim Wulchak, at jim.wulchak@aanr-florida.org to obtain the bid form to fill out and return or download the .Landed Club Application or Non Landed Application, fill out and send to Jim.
We look for diversity of locations for these meetings, so every club that has the ability should seriously consider hosting one of these events for 2014 – you won’t regret it!! We look forward to working with your club!
AANR-Florida needs your help
We need you to enter your candidacy to become an AANR-Florida Director. Applicants are required to make a committment; however the time spent is usually flexible according to personal schedules. Most Directors find it an enjoyable and rewarding experience and will run for additional terms with some advancing to become an officer or a trustee. Nominations for filing a directors position may be made until the elections at the AANR-Florida Convention. Someone may nominate you or you may nominate yourself.
Qualifications of candidates include:
- being an AANR member in good standing for at least two years proceeding nomination
- hold an AANR membership through an AANR-Florida club or the AANR-Florida Associates
- official address is within Florida or no more than 100 miles from the Florida border

If, at this time, you do not qualify to run for the Board or you do not feel comfortable about running, but would like to get involved in some other way, please feel free to contact Ralph Collinson, AANR-Florida President at ralph.collinson@aanr-florida.org. There are always committees that could use more help. Volunteering to assist with committees is open to all AANR-Florida members.
Just as a reminder, our next meeting is also our Annual AANR-Florida Convention which will be held on June 21 - 23 at Suwannee Valley Resort in White Springs, FL. Please join us for this weekend of regional business, fun and great food.
Honors Nominations Sought
We need you to enter your nomination(s) for AANR-Florida Man of the Year, Woman of the Year and/or Family of the Year. Do you know of any Man, Woman and/or Family that has accomplished any special Nude Recreation contribution(s)such as:
- To their Club, to AANR-Florida or to AANR
- Public speaking regarding Nude Recreation
- Participating in information booths regarding Nude Recreation
- Or to any other positive activity that would promote Nude Recreation
Eligibility only requires that candidates are currently AANR-Florida members. Any AANR-Florida member shall be allowed to make only one nomination per category for Man, Woman and Family of the Year. No person or family shall be eligible for an Honor Award if they received it the preceding year.
Nominations for Man, Woman and/or Family of the Year must be postmarked, or electronically dated, by May 15. At the time of Convention voting, nominators may give up to a three minute talk on the nominee’s contribution(s) to Nude Recreation. Although it is preferred, nominees need not be present to be selected. Nominations must be made on the official Honorary Award Nomination Form.
